QPR is an evidence-based and award winning suicide prevention training model that takes a systems wide approach to effectively train an organisation’s staff or individuals and reduce the risk of suicide. QPR New Zealand is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clinical Advisory Services Aotearoa Limited, better known by its acronym.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people are trained in CPR to help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to question, persuade, and refer someone for help.

QPR Training: Suicide Screening & Triage
This workshop is designed for professionals in a position to have first contact with persons at risk for suicidal behaviours and will prepare participants to make an initial assessment of risk for suicide and to “triage” the at-risk person to a professional for further assessment and care.

QPR Suicide Screening & Triage training includes instruction on the use of a structured interview to gather data that flows into a decision tree leading the interviewer to establish a crisis management plan or intervention. The triage process results in a systematic and evidence-based process for determining level of risk in order to determine the level of intervention required. The triage process will help determine the need for, plan, and carry out a referral for further evaluation and or treatment. At the end of the day you will have to sit an Exam. And a certificate is issued on passing
