Round the Bays: Free sponsored Places!

CHAMP – Five Position/Project Vacancies

CHAMP (Counties Manukau Mental Health & Addictions Partnership) is a partnership group representing NGOs and clinical provider services in the mental health and addictions sector working across the Counties Manukau region. This group has developed collaborative solutions to share and resolve issues since its inception in 2003. The structure is based on a non-legal and non-binding agreement to cooperate with all members to promote the coordinated, effective, efficient delivery of services to meet the needs of service users.

As a part of the Workplan for 2011/2012 CHAMP has a number of exciting projects planned and is looking for the right people and/or organisations to assist in implementing these through the following five vacancies:

CHAMP Programme Coordinator

The Programme Coordinator will focus on actively managing the implementation of the
partnerships key priorities as outlined in the CHAMP Strategic Operational Workplan 2009/10 – 2012/13. The Programme Coordinator will provide technical assistance to the CHAMP collaborative and its partners to achieve its objectives. This will include working flexibly with individual member organizations and other local and regional stakeholders.
This is a fixed term position covering 13 months maternity leave, commencing early 2012.

Benchmarking: Acute Services Project Manager 

Seeking an experienced project manager whom has excellent skills in the following areas: communication, problem solving, report development and data analysis. A background in Mental Health would be preferred to assist in setting up a benchmarking forum between multiple service providers and providing ongoing support. The successful candidate will need to be able to establish trusting relationships with and between different providers, offer advice and support and have a flexible working style. The initial contract period will be for 12 months to commence December 2011.
Asian/Indian Network Project Coordinator
We are looking for a skilled and experienced coordinator to scope on behalf of the CHAMP
members of resources and networks within the Counties Manukau region that may assist/advise the Mental Health and Addiction sector on how to engage service users/families and friends to access MH& Addiction services in a culturally safe and appropriate way including the most appropriate means of consulting with them whilst recognising key culture and language requirements.

CHAMP Biographer
We need an enthusiastic media savvy person to help us tell the CHAMP story. This work requires writing skills the tools and ability to video tape or film conversations with key
stakeholders, whanau, carers, and community members regarding CHAMP. This position may be filled by a student of journalism and/or digital media. You will be able to write, interview, and film as well as develop layout for pamphlets and booklets. Please include examples of relevant film, DVD, digital media, writing and interview samples you
have completed with your application. The timeframe for completion of the project is by end of January 2012.

A Recovery Approach for Counties Manukau: Communications Project Manager
A project manager is required to facilitate the development of an agreed ‘recovery approach’ for the Counties Manukau region that will enhance how mental health and addiction services work together to improve outcomes for people who access our services.
The person will have the ability to: communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders; draw out from different providers and service users some shared understandings and principles that underpin ‘a recovery approach’ within mental health and addiction services; use a variety of media to illustrate the findings of the project. A proven ability to develop promotional resource material that demonstrates shared understandings among diverse stakeholders is required.
