Engage Aotearoa brings you an invitation to attend an exclusive two hour role-play workshop with the team from Mind Over Manner.

This specialist workshop focuses on the transition from the summer holidays to the school environment and is designed for parents and professionals in close association with teenagers who think and learn differently.

Think Act Engage Workshop for Parents with Teens who have Learning Difficulties | Auckland: 2 July 2013

Parents are invited to attend an exclusive two hour role play workshop with the team from Mind Over Manner

This specialist workshop is designed for parents with teenagers who think and learn differently.

There is a significant increase in the number of children who have difficulty with existing learning methods and who struggle to participate in large groups.

This workshop will increase the understanding and  develop vital communication skills for working with teens with cognitive and sensory processing differences (eg, Asperger’s, ADD, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and OCD).

Using a skilled MoM facilltator, hypothetical and real life scenarios are played out by experienced actors and then improved..shaped…altered using the input and suggestions from the audience.

Mind over Manner provides practical pathways to help improve relationships and behavioural outcomes, and promotes a deeper understanding with which to successfully navigate these vital teenage years.

WHEN: 7pm – 9pm, Tuesday 2nd July 2013.

WHERE: TAPAC Theatre, Motions Road, Western Springs.

WHO should come: any parent who has  a teenager with cognitive differences  and who wants to develop their instinctive capabilities and gain practical strategies to help bridge the communication gap.

Changing Minds Community Forum in Auckland Thurs 21 Feb 2013

Have your say on emerging issues in the sector!

Changing Minds invites you to attend our February Forum where you will get a chance to have your say on new and emerging issues in the mental health and addictions sector!  The newly appointed Consumer leaders from Affinity Services will be discussing their new roles working alongside the Auckland District Health Board.  Changing Minds staff will also be facilitating a discussion around emerging issues in the sector as Aucklanders who access, or have accessed, mental health and/or addiction issues.
