Registrations Open for Free Suicide Prevention Webinar on 10 Sep 2012

Registrations are now open for the SPINZ World Suicide Prevention Day event this year: a live online webinar, on the topic “Strengthening Protective Factors and Instilling Hope”.

Researchers Professor G Luke Larkin and Dr Annette Beautrais from the University of Auckland will discuss international evidence and national examples of approaches to strengthen protective factors that can reduce vulnerability to suicide and strengthen resilience.

They will discuss protective factors within the framework of micro, meso and macro-level suicide prevention, giving examples of what can be done at individual, community and government levels to make a difference.

The presentation will be held as a webinar – a live online seminar that allows the presenters to interact with an audience. For those unable to attend the live event, it will also be recorded for later viewing on the SPINZ website.

Attendance at the webinar is free – you can register online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8L27NXF.

Once registered, you will be sent a link to a website where you can view the presentation at the time of broadcast – 2pm on Monday 10 September. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters by email before the session, or through Twitter during the webinar.
