Job Opportunity: Strengthening Families Coordinator

Raeburn House is a community development organisation that works across three core areas – Community Wellbeing, Mental Wellbeing and Diversity.

Strengthening Families is about families. It is a structured early intervention process where community organisations and government agencies work together with family/whanau to improve the health, education and social outcomes for that family/whanau.

Raeburn House is seeking a highly motivated person with social work experience. Working across government and community organisations, this position requires someone with knowledge and experience of how key agencies work with families in the social/health/education and youth justice sectors.

The ideal person will also have strong communication skills both oral and written, an ability to work across different levels to build relationships, knowledge of children’s behavioural and development issues and a current New Zealand drivers licence. This is a 30 hour a week position and flexibility of hours may be required.

Part-Time Advisor for Human Rights Commission

Permanent, part time (22.5 hours per week), Auckland Central

The Human Rights Commission is seeking a part-time Advisor (22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days) for InfoLine, our information service helpline based in Auckland.

The Commission advocates and promotes respect for, and an understanding and appreciation of, human rights in New Zealand society, and encourages the maintenance and development of harmonious relations in New Zealand.

Can you:

  • remain calm under pressure
  • accurately capture and report information on complaints/enquiries received
  • work with diverse communities
  • maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion

Do you have:

  • experience in providing helpline services
  • knowledge of, or interest in, the Human Rights Act, the Treaty of Waitangi, te reo and tikanga
  • a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience in data entry
  • an awareness of the functions of various government and non governmental agencies for referral purposes
