Workshops for Mental Health Awareness Week | Auckland

For the first time, Mental Health Awareness Week (October 6-12) is featuring workshops to encourage the community to Keep Learning.

From raw food cooking, easy entertaining, terrarium making, printmaking, drawing and spoken word workshops, to a presentation on the Hauora community garden project and a film about food production and seed saving, there’s sure to be something that will take your fancy.

These Auckland-based workshops are being held by the Mental Health Foundation of NZ in conjunction with Nature’s Nutrition, New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Studio One, Toi Ora Live Art Trust, Lot23, Hauora Garden Project and Nga Taonga Sound and Vision.

There are a range of workshops for both adults and children – perfect for the school holidays.

Natures Nutrition: Raw Food Workshop

Ever wondered how to create your own almond milk, kale chips or raw fudge?

Here is an opportunity for you to not only learn, but also get healthy!

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week, the Mental Health Foundation, in conjunction with the Healthy Kitchen and Nature’s Nutrition, is hosting a two-hour raw food workshop on Sunday, October 12 at 11.00am.

Debbie, a clinical nutritionist, will demonstrate a host of recipes including raw juices, smoothies, nut milk, kale chips, enzyme-rich raw salads and diabetic-friendly raw chocolate and raw fudge slice.

For a special price of $35 you will have the opportunity to try all food that is prepared, plus walk away with a wealth of knowledge and a comprehensive pack of raw food recipes to try at home.

The workshop will be held at the Mental Health Foundation in Mt Eden.
