AOD Change Agents – Residential Services

Rodney & North Shore, Waitakere & West Auckland

Can you still remember when your career was your absolute passion?

If you are currently more besieged by bureaucracy than dedicated to recovery, with stagnated learning and shrinking Mana, then you must read on…

Connect Supporting Recovery is an established NGO providing recovery-focused mental health care service to communities throughout Auckland and Hamilton. Now in our 21st year, we command revenues in excess of $6million and a full time staff of 120.

Tama Tu Tama Ora

Two of our residential services presently seek an AOD Change Agent to work with a small, manageable caseload of clients who are at critical transitions stages in their life.

Abeo House – recently established, yet already with a strong waiting list, and located in what can only be described as tranquil and rural Birkdale.

Poutama Auckland’s only dual diagnosis service not requiring client abstinence. This innovative harm reduction approach provides irreplaceable recovery opportunities and exclusive challenges from its Te Atatu setting.

We believe a Change Agent intervenes in someone’s life, but through that intervention assists that person and their whanau to reach goals they want to reach. Before that intervention, they either weren’t able to get there, or it was difficult to get there. Consequently, we would love to hear from individuals who can demonstrate capabilities in:

  • AOD environments.
  • Addiction Treatment Approaches.
  • Sports & Recreation.
  • Genuine knowledge of Maori, Pacific Island, and Pakeha cultures.
  • Working with a predominance of male

Candidates must share the team’s deeply-held belief in holistic, face to face,
participative and highly inventive recovery based approaches. A sense of fun, team spirit and openness will complement a fine balance of positivity and pragmatism.

Above all, we are looking for those who have integrated their learning into daily practice, and can confidently demonstrate the applied value of their experiences.

Please forward your CV and covering letter to June Ranyard, our HR Administrator at admin@connectsr.org.nz quoting reference 1972.
