Exercise Rehabilitation Clinic – Arthritis, Pain and Exercise

Free education workshop at The University of Auckland Clinics, aimed at those with polymyalgia rheumatic, osteoarthritis and gout.

The University of Auckland Clinics’ Exercise Rehabilitation Clinic, in conjunction with Arthritis New Zealand, is presenting a seminar designed to help you learn about the different types of arthritis and how exercise can assist their management.

Free Self-Management Course Leader Training 23, 24, 30 & 31 May 2012

Free Stanford Self Management Education Leaders course

  • Do you want to make a difference in the communities that you serve?
  • Do you or someone you care for have a long term health condition such as heart disease, arthritis, lung disease, depression, diabetes?

Topics include; relaxation techniques, communication skills, physical activity and healthy eating, managing depression, managing symptoms and problem solving


  • Being a good listener and have empathy
  • Happy to lead/facilitate a group
  • Have access to own transport
  • Be able to deliver a programme in the community within 6 months of becoming a leader. This involves facilitating  a Stanford SME programme for 6 weeks (once a week for 2.5 hours)


Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24rd May & Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st May 2012

(4 full days 9.30 until 4.30pm) – be able to attend all sessions at East Health Trust (PHO) 260 Botany Road. Howick.
