Engage Aotearoa

Community Garden talk and Movie Screening

The Mental Health Foundation, in conjunction with the Film Archive, Lot23 and Hauora Garden of Health and Happiness project, will be showing The Neglected Miracle – a feature length documentary looking at how developed nations are exploiting poorer countries for access to their wild plants and superficially plant genetics. The film raises questions about the stewardship and ownership of plants, and raises questions about the rights and role of corporations in developing plants genetically.

Prior to the screening, A.D. Schierning will be speaking about the Hauora Garden project. The project is a collaboration between artists A.DSchiErning and Richard Orjis. Come along to find out more.

The screening will be held on the 7th of October at Lot 23, 23 Minne Street, Eden Terrace, Auckland. Doors open from 5.15pm for a 6pm start. Entry is by koha.
