Akld Airport Grants Open

Auckland Airport Community Trust is now accepting applications for the 2012/13 Community Grants programme.

The Community Trust was established in 2003 to distribute charitable funds on behalf of Auckland International Airport Limited, and has awarded over $2million funding to date.

Community Grants are only available to organisations that operate projects which benefit communities within the Trust’s Area of Benefit.  The Area of Benefit is clearly defined by a map which can be viewed on the Trust’s website:  www.aucklandairportcommunitytrust.org.nz

In general terms, this area covers parts of the suburbs of Wiri, Mangere, Papatoetoe, Otara, East Tamaki, Flatbush and Whitford.  Applicants are strongly urged to check there alignment with the Area of Benefit before applying.

For the 2012/13 Community Grants programme, the Trust will continue its focus on supporting projects that support:

  • a) Literacy –  with a particular emphasis on projects or programmes which engage families in their children’s learning, including programmes which enhance the literacy levels of the adults involved
  • b)Life skills – in particular programmes or projects which build upon the Trust’s on-going investment in literacy development; and which build resilience within individuals, families and the community served by the Trust.

Applicants must be an incorporated society, charitable trust or otherwise have donee status.  A full guide to applying can be viewed on the Trust’s website.

Applications opened 12th December 2011 and will be accepted until 5pm on 31st March 2012.  Successful applicants will be notified in June 2012, and funds will be paid in January 2013 for projects to be delivered across the 2013 calendar year.
